How To Stretch Your Budget At Turks & Caicos

Turks and Caicos

Featuring miles of gorgeous sandy beaches and serene landscapes, the Turks & Caicos Islands offer complete relaxation. However, there are also several exciting activities to enjoy. Indulge in gambling, shopping, golf, fishing, parasailing, boating, sailing, snorkeling or scuba diving. Given below are a few excellent places to explore on the islands:

Dellis Cay

Dellis Cay is a small but stunning island between North Caicos and Providenciales. This uninhabited island may not look like much at first glance, particularly because of the abandoned look of a partially built resort and several other ghost buildings. However, it is still well worth visiting if you're looking for beauty, peace and solitude. Featuring a beautiful sandy beach where you can find any number of unique seashells, this island is also a great spot for snorkeling.

Grand Turk

Grand Turk is the capital of Turks & Caicos and a destination that has been loved by divers for years. Although the island itself is quite small, its biggest attraction is the beautiful coral wall that is a treat to explore. If you're not keen on diving or coral reefs, there are plenty of other things to do on the island. The island features a large cruise-ship terminal that brings in thousands of visitors each year. A leisurely stroll through the island will reveal beautiful churches, colonial inns, white courtyards and sandy white beaches. You can also learn more about the history of the islands at the National Museum.

Little Water Cay

Little Water Cay is a protected area and only a few minutes by a private boat from Leeward and Walkin marinas. It can also be reached from Grace Bay through excursion boats. This uninhabited cay is a great place to explore for nature lovers. From abundant native plants and red mangroves to lakes and trails, the pristine beauty of this area is quite attractive.

For families with children this island also offers the rare opportunity to observe endangered, rare rock iguanas. Also known as the Iguana Island, it is often a stop on many sailing and snorkeling excursions. Whether you decide to spend an entire day on the island or visit it quickly on a sailing tour, it will definitely provide some fun and adventure for the entire family.

North Caicos

North Caicos receives abundant rainfall and is therefore a lush and sparsely populated island. If you are a bird lover or someone who just likes to get away from the touristy spots, this is a good place to visit. The island offers a good number of choices when it comes to activities. For bird lovers it offers beautiful flamingos. Explore the island on a bicycle or visit the Loyalist plantation for a dose of history. You can even spend some time angling for bonefish in one of the creeks on the island.

When you are ready to take a break there are several small restaurants in Whitby where you can try fresh seafood and local specialties. North Caicos does have many beautiful beaches to offer, though they are less developed and quite secluded. However, you won't be competing for your space on the warm sand since there are no resorts around.

Providenciales

Providenciales is the most developed island in Turks & Caicos resorts with modern resorts, spas, stores, restaurants, trendy cafes, sleek barks and service providers all located along the gorgeous Grace Bay. The Chalk Sound National Park here features breathtaking, turquoise waters and whiter than white sand that often leaves first time visitors speechless. There are several golf courses on the island as well as grand resorts for those who want to spend a few days in the lap of luxury. However, the island also has deserted beaches and seclusion along the southern shores or the western part of the island. Rent a boat to explore the many uninhabited islands and cays nearby or simply bask in the vibrant yet relaxed lifestyle of the island.
