Three Disney Vacations You've Never Heard Of
If a family vacation is on your trip list, you'll please the kids to no end with a Disney vacation package. It's a veritable choose-your-own-adventure when you pick from one of the many fun-filled journeys available. From Disney Parks and Resorts, to the Disney Cruise Line to the exotic "Adventures by Disney" there's something exciting waiting for every member of the family on this kid-friendly travel docket.
Disney Theme Parks
Disneyland was opened in 1955 in Anaheim, California. It is the original Disney theme park. Since then, Disney Land has been joined by Disney World, home to the various parks including the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and the Blizzard Beach Water Park. Disney theme parks have gone global and nowadays you'll find them in Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
The Hawaiian Aulani Disney Resort and Spa is located in the resort town of Ko Olina on the island of Oahu. At Aulani, parents and their children get to enjoy all the usual Hawaiian resort treats with a Disney twist. You could spend your entire vacation lazing your days away in the fantastic pool area, which consists of the Waikolohe Stream (there's a lazy river as well as rapids for tubing), the Waikolohe Pool, an 8,200 square-foot zero-entry pool, the Ka Maka Grotto, the infinity pool gazing out at Ko Olina Beach, the Rainbow Reef, Oahu's only private snorkeling lagoon, the Menehune Bridge, an interactive play area for the little tikes, and last but not least, the Keiki Cove Splash zone, a whimsical water playground for the wee ones.
Hawaiian cultural activities are offered here too. From craft classes to hula shows, there's a Hawaiian treat for every tropical palette. The resorts restaurants range from beach side dining to a casual family-style buffet. Room service, cocktail lounges and poolside lounges make your stay pleasing for every tiny taste bud.
The Disney Cruise takes place on impressive vessels that guide you from the Bahamas to Caribbean waters. There's an Alaska cruise and even a European one. On a Disney Cruise you get to make happy aquatic memories with the little ones you love most. Each ship was thoughtfully designed to enhance the Disney storytelling experience that originated on land, and was then translated to the shipboard life.
A Disney cruise is truly fun for the whole family. There are endless activities on board. Micky and Minnie roam through the ship along with a host of other Disney characters.
The musicals on board are of Broadway caliber, the 3D films are first-run and the port-of call activities are top-notch. Disney even has its own private island in the Caribbean - Castaway Cay, located in the Bahamas.
If you're traveling with toddlers make sure you book a safe and secure room - you don't want your child falling of a cruise ship balcony. An interior room is a safe bet for everyone. The Disney Fantasy is the latest and greatest addition to Disney's fun and fanciful fleet of ships. It offers 7-night cruises through both the Eastern and Western Caribbean. The vessel features an innovative dining experience called ‘rotational dining,' where you and your family eat at a different restaurant each night while your wait staff follows you. Novelty abounds and there's simply no possible way to get bored.
